Warner Bros. Practical Magic Sally's Umbrella Based on Alice Hoffman's best-selling novel, PRACTICAL MAGIC, tells the story of the romantically challenged Owens sisters, who are also modern day witches. Brought to the screen by director, Griffin Dunne, PRACTICAL MAGIC stars Sandra Bullock as Sally Owens, Nicole Kidman as Gillian Owens, Stockard Channing as Aunt Frances, Dianne Wiest as Aunt Jet and Aidan Quinn as Gary Hallet. Following the dramatic exorcism to rid Gillian's (Nicole Kidman) body of her dead lover's evil spirit, normal life and love return to the Owens household. While the witches prepare for their rooftop Halloween flying demonstration, Sally (Sandra Bullock) ponders, "Can love travel back in time and heal a broken heart? I'd like to think so." Then, the witches, dressed in traditional black dresses and pointy hats, open their umbrellas and jump from the roof, floating to the ground to the delight of family, friends and Sally's new love, US Marshal, Gary Hallet (Aidan Quinn). Featured during the filming of this scene, the umbrella has a wooden handle and shaft, with a metal tip on the end. The black fabric sheath is outfitted with eight-rib, metal construction. A small white sticker, printed with "99," is affixed to the top of the curved handle. The umbrella is worn and bears signs of production usage, including scratches, nicks and dings. The gathered fabric around the metal tip is starting to separate. 34" x 5"x 2"- closed. 44" dia.-open |
