"There is a little Witch in all of us." Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock star in the
wonderful fantasy movie "Practical Magic". This doll set was inspired by the last scene
in the movie, when they jump off the house roof on Halloween night, holding their
umbrellas. Sally Owens (Sandra) is the more serious and responsible of the two, while
Gillian (Nicole) is the flighty vampy wild thang! Though very different, the sisters are
very close to each other and share a psychic bond. I have recreated these characters from
my favorite movie, and offer them here as a One Of a Kind Set, just in time for
Halloween! I will not make a set like this again, ever. Sally and Gillian Owens
started life as Signature Brunette and Party of the Season Tyler Wentworth dolls,
both 16" tall and jointed at the neck, shoulders, hips and knees. Both have had all
original face paint removed, and new features professionally painted and sealed. Real
lashes have been added. Sally has had a widow's peak rerooted and also a cleft sculpted
into her chin. Their hair has been restyled to look just like Sally and Gillian's hair.
Their Witch's gowns are completely hand sewn and are fitting to each sisters' personalities.
Sally's has a shear full circle overskirt and long lined teardrop sleeves, while Gillians
has embroidered lace trim at the neckline and waist and a full circle skirt. Both were
made with a gorgeous shimmer fabric that drapes beautifully. Both gowns have snap
closures in back and are removeable, in case you would like to dress these gals in
more contemporary clothing. Their red and white striped socks have been reproduced,
and they each wear black pumps. Their hats were handmade, and each has a different
lacey net trim and bow in the back. They can be tied on or just let them sit on their
heads. The hat brims are wired, they can bend. They each have a handmade umbrella
with trim to match their gowns, which they can hold easily. Umbrellas do not close.
Gillian wears a silver chain necklace with her Tiger Eye pendant (remember, she lost
it in the movie), wrapped in a silver cage. She also has silver ball stud earrings. Sally
has a great pair of silver gothic looking drop earrings with small blue stones in the
centers. Accessories included, also used in the movie: Two hand sculpted and cinnamon
broomsticks, a black cauldron for their spellwork, two glass jars with cork stoppers. One
has actual Sea Salt ("Always throw salt over you left shoulder for luck") and the other has
actual Mugwort (for healing boo-boos given by nasty/evil boyfriends!) I have also included
my signature piece included with all my Fantasy dolls: a tiny leather bag with bead closure.
This holds tiny crystals and genuine gemstones inside: Hematite, Jade, Amethyst, Citrine,
Carnelion, Garnet, Moonstone, Quartz, Rose Quartz, Iolite, Sodalite, Tiger Eye and
Aventurine. The bag has string straps and may be carried by one of the dolls. A certificate
of authenticity will be included, signed and dated by the artist (Me, Stacey Macchia!)
Backdrops not included in auction. A wonderful one of a kind set for fans of the movie,
the actresses, or just Witches in general! These are artist dolls and are not intended for
children's toys.
