If the conservatory is the most exotic room in the aunts' house,
the most staid is Sally's bedroom... Having grown up in the attic,
she stays here as a grownup. As light and unwitchy as the kitchen,
it is not without its Owens overtones...

... (Robin Standerfer) also works very closely with the costume
designers. "Essentially, we're all creating a still life," she explains.
"Let's say Sandra will be sitting on this couch. If it's brown,
what's the best thing for her to wear? These are big issues."

Drapes flow abudantly and the walls are bordered with handpainted
vines, interlocking in a slightly medieval pattern.

There are several elements that make Sally's bedroom so inviting.
First, there is the use of cream, which is common throughout the
house. It is found on her walls, and her wonderful painted and carved
bed frame. Contrasting this, there are pieces of dark wood furniture
such as her writing desk, chest (at the end of her bed), and occasional
table. A comfy chair for reading by the fire, a few choice wall hangings,
some books, and a generous use of candles complete the look. It
doesn't hurt to have a fireplace and balcony, as well!
